Is pleasing others hindering performance?

June 5 – Is pleasing others hindering performance? Are you so busy pleasing others in your life that you are not able to give your best to what you want to be doing?  Do you feel pulled in all directions at work with what is being demanded upon you? Do you feel distracted at home, because of everyone vying for your attention? Are you feeling unsatisfied and ungratified by your progress to-date on all that you desire? Do you feel that you could give so much more if only you didn’t have so many others needing your focus and assistance? There is a difference between giving and pleasing, and if you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then pleasing has its grip upon you.

Take an MM&I Moment to awaken to the idea that pleasing is actually hindering your ability to give all that you can truly give to this world. Are you pleasing to make someone else happy? Are you pleasing out of an obligation you feel you must fulfill? Are you pleasing because you feel it is an expectation others have of you? What will make you happy? What will thrill you more than oblige you? What do you expect to realize if only you could be free of what feels like a burden? What are you not receiving as a result of all this pleasing?  Knowing the difference between giving from your heart and pleasing will set you free, allowing you to truly be, do and receive all that can be for yourself and others.
