Are you letting others in?

Oct 23, 2017 - Are you letting others in? Are you allowing others to know what you are trying to achieve? Are you seeking insights and perspectives to better understand any challenges you might be facing to get where you want to go? Is your passion for what you are doing being shared with those important to you and those who may share similar interests? Are you also interested in what others are trying to achieve? People with great satisfaction in their lives and livelihoods are seven times more likely to share what they are doing with others. By sharing, and then caring, you may just find that missing piece of information or access to support you never realized was so readily available.

Take an MM&I Moment to assess people you could share what you are trying to do with who don't currently know. Consider those with whom you have shared, and ask yourself if you have shared in a way that helps them understand its importance to you and its potential impact or benefit for them. Now, take it a step further. Who would you love to know and share this desire or goal with, who you think is out of reach because you don't know them that well or think they may be too busy. Stop assuming, and reach out to this person. Chances are, it is your own assumptions that are getting in your way. The more you let others in, the more chances you have for success. You may very well be the person they needed to meet to help them achieve something as well!
