Are you in “inactive” control?

May 14, 2012 - Are you in “inactive” control? What I mean is, are there several things you have started or know that you want to do, but are in a stagnant state because you don’t believe anyone can do them but you, and yet, you have not gotten around to doing them yourself? One of your greatest sources of satisfaction and accomplishment can be the simple act of getting out of your own way in order to move things forward. Your next greatest source of accomplishment and satisfaction is knowing and embracing what you truly believe will make the difference in your life and work for you and for others.

Take an MM&I Moment to make a quick list of all those projects and tasks that are in you “inactive” control. Note why you believe they are in a holding pattern right now. Honestly state why you haven’t been able to get to them quite yet. Which ones are truly important to you and why? Which ones are important to someone else and why are you involved? Could someone else get involved to help you move things forward? Could it be broken into small pieces to hand off to someone to get it restarted and moving forward? Are there things of lesser priority, yet they always seem to be pulling you away? By taking an objective look, you will be better able to find a way or make a way for what is truly important to happen. Get out of your own way and realize the freedom and satisfaction that occurs when you do.
