February 04 – Too set in your ways? Have you been doing certain things the same way for years, without pausing to ask if there’s a better way? Are there certain tasks that are so familiar and automatic that you keep doing them even though someone else could just as well? Are there things you want to be doing, yet cannot seem to find the time because your plate is already overflowing? Is the far more critical work you should be focusing on, yet cannot due to what feels like a bottleneck within your company?
Getting out of your comfort zone is key to realizing a continuous flow of progress in your business, especially when you are trying to scale and grow. When routines go unquestioned, efficiency can quietly turn into limitation. When you feel indispensable in areas where others could take over, you are creating a co-dependency that is not serving you or your business.
Take an MM&I Moment to awaken to habits, assumptions and routines that once served you, and now are limiting you. What tasks are you doing because you believe “it’s faster than training someone else” or you don’t quite trust it will be done the way you want it to be done? What processes are you holding onto even though there are better ways to accomplish the desired outcome? How involved are you in the day-to-day of getting things done in your business instead of leading the business forward strategically? You may be busy every day, but is it truly productive or creating momentum? While gaining a certain level of comfort in your business is satisfying, it could also be limiting. Sometimes the bravest move a business owner can make is not doing more, but letting go of what they’ve always done. Challenge yourself and your team. Instead of resisting change, lead the change.
