Is your short-term building your long-term?

December 31 – Is your short-term building your long-term? Is the effort you are putting into right now building towards the future you desire? Are you intentionally focused on what matters the most towards reaching your goals? Are you nurturing what is most satisfying for you to accomplish with even the smallest steps? Or are you constantly allowing yourself to be pulled in directions that are distracting or slowing you down from where you ultimately desire to be?

What you are doing now and in the short-term are the force behind what will help you achieve your ultimate goals and desires. Making what you desire a priority is not being selfish. It is self-fulfilling and reinforcing that what you believe is meant for you can be. Your actions represent your priorities, and are always within your control to choose. When you align your actions with your priorities, amazing things begin to fall into place. Momentum is created by continuous steps, not leaps.

Take an MM&I Moment  to awaken to how effectively you are staying focused.  What matters most in the here and now and your immediate future that will get you where you want to be in the long-term? How are you allowing yourself to be distracted or redirected from what is most important to you?  Look at your list of priorities you have on your plate. Are they all really priorities, or are there items that are consuming your time away from what really matters in the long term? Can certain things wait, or can the responsibility be transferred so that you can stay more effectively focused? Give yourself permission to make yourself a priority. Give yourself permission to realign your priorities with your goals. Especially in the new year ahead, you will find a deeper satisfaction along with greater accomplishment.
