October 22 – Is what you don't know the problem? Or is it the solution? Are you making assumptions without knowing for sure the heart of the situation or the impact of a situation? Have you put great effort and time into learning and knowing all there is to know about what you are doing, only to find yourself stuck compared to where you would like to be? Have you used your know-how effectively so far, only to now find it is not enough? Whatever you are struggling to understand is an opportunity to gain insight.
What we have known or currently know is always going to be infiltrated from all sides by new information, ways of being and doing. How we embrace what is around us through our awareness and acceptance of an ever-changing playing field is what enables us to go further and perform at a higher level than we thought possible. A continuous mindset of learning is the underlying secret. A continuous curiosity replaces assumptions with more clarity. Being open to all resources, options and support empowers a greater understanding and getting answers you may seek.
Take an MM&I Moment to awaken to any assumptions you are making. Could it be that what you are thinking is based on what you are assuming versus know for certain? What don't you know and would like to know with more clarity? What problem are you trying to solve that has you stuck? Whatever it is, explore it. Seek to understand it through someone else's perspective. Do you need to gain perspective or insights from others who have been there and done that? From your team members? From a colleague? From an expert? No one knows all the answers, but someone knows an answer.
