Are you busy, yet not productive?

May 28 –  Are you busy, yet not productive? Are your days fast-paced with lots thrown at you at any given moment,? At the end of each day, do you continue to see things you really wanted to get to not getting done?  Do you feel as though your own priorities are continually getting shuffled to the end of the line in order to manage or handle all else that seems to be coming at you throughout your day? Is everyone else’s priority taking your own priorities hostage?

When you aren't feeling productive, despite being busy throughout the day, it is because you are busy doing things that are not fulfilling your key desires and responsibilities. You may need to take a moment to truly understand what your priorities are in the face of all that is being demanded upon you. Seizing control of your time and what is a priority is reinforcing what truly matters.

Take an MM&I Moment  to awaken to why you are allowing so many other tasks, interruptions and activities take precedence over what you truly want to be focusing upon and getting done.  Consider the last few days and what you completed or were asked to do. How many of these items could have been delegated to someone else? How many of the items on your to-do list were actually necessary? What items received urgent attention that were not really urgent or even necessary? How are you intentionally scheduling and setting aside time for what is most important? If you are not being intentional, ask yourself why. Answering these questions may help you shed some light on why you are allowing yourself to veer off course so much. Getting back on track could be as simple as putting your focus back where you truly want it to be to begin with.  Getting back on track could be as simple as saying “no” in order to say “yes” to what is most important to you.

We judge others by their behavior. We judge ourselves by our intentions. – Ian Percy
