Are you in survival or thrive mode?

Apr 30 –  Are you in survival or thrive mode? Amidst all that is causing uncertainty and angst, are you finding yourself watching the stock market and the news with a feeling of doomsday oncoming? Are you beginning to operate your business in a defensive, survival mode instead of a proactive, thrive mode? Are you beginning to think you are going to need to make cutbacks? Are you telling yourself or your employees that it cannot be afforded at this time, the company needs to get more sales, or the profits need to be higher before spending any more money?

No matter the economic circumstances or competitive challenges you may face in your business, there are always opportunities if you are open to seeing them. The biggest deterrent to overcome in navigating your business success amidst turmoil is in the mindset you possess while  leading the business forward and through.

Take an MM&I Moment  to awaken to how you may be hindering your ability to see opportunities and take proactive steps.  Are you beginning to feel you need to cuts costs and expenses in your company in preparation for potential downturn in sales or opportunities? Are you limiting what the people in your company can pursue or do due to concern over circumstances that are outside of your control? Are you viewing everything as an expense, clouding your ability to assess whether the spending could be a good return on investment? A survival mindset sees expenses. A growth mindset sees investments. Years of research has validated that leaders of companies that grew despite economic downturns, recessions, and unexpected global events, maintained a growth mindset that empowered their companies to do more than survive, but actually thrive.  Investment of time, money and resources viewed with a growth mindset will help you see opportunities you may be missing and fuel the ability to be agile and unstoppable.
