Is your next step unclear?

Oct 25 – Is your next step unclear? Have you made great progress towards a goal and now you have reached a place where the next step is unclear? Are you caught in limbo with a specific initiative, causing you to feel stuck and unsure what to do next? Do you find yourself with many options, and overwhelmed by what you next best step should be?

Whenever you feel uncertain, it is a time to get more answers. Even when something feels stuck or in limbo, there is something you can do to gain more clarity. Your next step is to identify what could help you become more clear, get out of limbo, or get unstuck.

Take an MM&I Moment to reawaken to the answers you need. If you have made great progress and now feel uncertain what step to take next, consider what would be the ultimate desired outcome you will realize as a result of achieving this goal. Based on that outcome, what steps come to mind to get you to the ultimate outcome? If you feel caught in limbo or stuck, make a list of what is causing this to occur. Is it that you are awaiting someone else to complete their part? Is it that you are at the mercy of things that are out of your control such as timing, regulations, due process, or something else? What can you do in the meantime to prepare for when it is no longer in limbo? If you have many options, consider your overriding goals and your values? Which options are most aligned with both your goals and values? Choose the most aligned option. Once you realize your power to take action, you will start gaining momentum in ways you never imagined before. The ball is always in your court. Always. The smallest of actions can set off a tidal wave of progress.

 Yours in dreaming WIDE awake,

P.S. I enjoyed being a guest on the Anything But Typical Podcast earlier this year, and today, will be enjoying some physical activity at the White Water Rafting Center in Charlotte, NC and networking among other CEOs who were ABT’s first 100 podcast guests. A shout out of congrats to Gary Frey, whose book, Silence the Imposter, was recently published and packed with insights and brilliance.
