Is the struggle real?

August 30 – Is the struggle real? Are you feeling the weight of the world to the point of inaction? Are you caught up in challenges that seem to have been thrust upon you that are distracting, detracting, and causing you to be in a reactionary mode? Could it be that you are focusing more on what “isn’t” than what “is”?

When you feel like you have lost control due to challenges and obstacles that have become omnipresent, being able to decipher what is really impacting you to seize back control of your focus and attention is pivotal.

Take an MM&I Moment to awaken to the reality within your challenges being faced. Make a list of all the challenges or obstacles that have consumed your attention. Now list what is out of your control about them. Next list what is within your control related to them. If there is nothing you can control, accept this reality and then give yourself permission to focus on other, more productive efforts. With no way to control the situation, you are giving that challenge power over you that is not productive. Move forward. Shift your focus. Embrace your possibilities. If there is something within your control, make note of your next steps to gain some traction that will move you forward instead of feeling stuck. Challenges are not meant to stop you; they are meant to prepare you and equip you.

"Success is due to our stretching to the challenges of life. Failure comes when we shrink from them." - John C. Maxwell
