Are you thankful enough for you?

Nov 24 – Are you thankful enough for you? Have you even given any thought to what you are grateful you can do or in what you know, what you have learned, or how far you have come? Have you taken the time to acknowledge your successes that have brought you to where you are currently in your life? Are you giving yourself enough credit for what you have overcome, endured, or persevered through to get where you are right now? When we are constantly striving, it is easy to negate all that it took to get you where you are today.

When is the last time you paused to appreciate who you are today and how you got here? Chances are you were blessed with people in your life or circumstances that influenced how you reacted, responded, or took action. It still took you to take the action. It still took you to recognize the opportunity. It still took you to accept the responsibility. It still took you to step forward and dive into unknown territory.  When gratitude starts from within, your appreciation for everything sees no boundaries.

Take an MM&I Moment to reawaken your inner gratitude for the person you are today. List seven things you appreciate about what makes you unique, proud, or more confident. List seven things you know now that you didn’t know decades ago, a few years ago, or even a week ago.  List seven things you have had to overcome to be where you are today.  Now look at these lists and see what bubbles up to the top in your next actions you can take. Choose one each day you are going to do just for you this week. Make it a daily habit to do something just for you. You will thank yourself, and most likely others will too, because a nurtured spirit within is a joyful spirit to be around and support as well.
