Are your wheels spinning or turning?

Oct 13 - Are your wheels spinning or turning? Do you feel as though you are continuously busy, yet not getting anywhere? Are you not making the progress you would like to be making for all the effort it feels you have put forth? Are all these “urgent” matters undermining your ability to work on what you know is important? Keeping busy may seem as though you are being productive, but if you don't have a clear vision, purpose, and goals to drive you, this may be why you are not getting the results you had hoped you would get.

Each action you take should be building momentum toward what you ultimately are trying to achieve. When your purpose is clear, your actions to reach your goals become clear, and instead of your wheels feeling as though they are spinning, getting nowhere, all of the sudden, your wheels will be turning with inspired action that gets you exactly where you were meant to be.

Take an MM&I Moment to reawaken to the actions you have taken and the activities you have been involved over the most recent weeks. What is the ultimate purpose you are trying to fulfill in what you ideally want to achieve? Which actions supported this purpose? Who will benefit in addition to you as a result of this purpose being realized? What do you value most that speaks deep from within about what you are trying to do? How will this vision continue to feed your purpose after your initial goal is reached? If you cannot answer these questions, you are not driven by a powerful purpose or vision of your future. Therefore, your actions may not be focused enough on the right activities. And instead, you are treading instead of moving forward. The more focused you are and the more clarity you have, the more aligned your actions and outcomes will be.

"Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent, and not enough time on what's important." - Stephen R. Covey
