Excited or anxious about your future?

Dec 1, 2014 - Excited or anxious about your future? Are you looking forward to next year with excited anticipation or elevated anxiety for what lies ahead? Do you have more questions than answers for where you are headed? Are you actually questioning the path that you are currently on, wondering if you need to head in a different direction entirely?  Our greatest power to set our course, stay on course, and move confidently forward lies deep within us. If you are not looking forward to next year with confidence, then instead of being anxious, be your own best advocate of action towards a more exciting, empowered and gratifying existence.

Take an MM&I Moment to gain perspective on why you are feeling anxious and uncertain. List what you are currently questioning in your life or work. Now list what makes you feel more engaged to be more confident, empowered, enriched, enthusiastic, and appreciated. Compare what is making you anxious to what makes you feel more engaged in your life.  Choose one of these areas of engagement and take action to elevate its benefit to a higher level.  Then choose another, and then another. Whether it is learning, giving back to others, doing something you love to do, or being with people who appreciate or inspire you, you will find that your ability to feel excited in your present circumstances from the smallest of things directly links to your ability to be excited about your future and what it holds for you.
