Sept 9, 2013 - Are you "high-fiving" enough? Are you focused only on the big wins in your work or career and you are not celebrating the small successes that are helping you get there? Are you beginning to feel that some of your goals may be too lofty and that you should adjust them? Setting your sights high is of great merit as long as you are also recognizing your small successes along the way. Why is this important? Because when you take the time to acknowledge these minor accomplishments, you are also allowing time to understand how they were achieved so you can leverage them even more towards your ultimately desired success.
Take an MM&I Moment to list the small successes you have been able to realize most recently. Share and celebrate these successes with others and gain insight through discussing them and noting the key factors that contributed to these successful outcomes. Then identify the action you can take to leverage these successes in ways that will support and move you toward what you are ultimately striving to achieve. Before you know it, all those "high five" moments will lead you to "popping the cork" in celebration of reaching a goal that previously seemed unattainable.
