Are you delighted or dismayed?

June 25, 2012 – Are you delighted or dismayed? What has happened over the past six months that has absolutely delighted you? What has happened over the past six months that somewhat dismayed you? What did you learn and discover about yourself as a result of both situations?  The key to realizing a full and satisfying life is to take each experience, the great ones and the not-so-great ones, and allow them to help you appreciate when things are going well while learning when things don’t go exactly as planned.  It is because of our challenges that our triumphs are all the more sweet.

Take an MM&I Moment to reflect on both the delightful experiences you have had recently as well as the challenging ones. Note your delight and also note how you learned or grew as a result of either of the items in your list. Most important, note how it has made you feel … more confident, aware, capable, understanding, patient, knowledgeable, creative, resourceful …  whatever the outcome, whatever the feeling – you have probably benefited far beyond what you, and probably those around you, may have realized at the time. Appreciate the good and the not-so-good now and you will find that it leads you much further into the future you desire, as you enthusiastically take joy in or take on anything that comes your way with a belief in yourself and what can be.
